2011 · Anthology · 15th Anniversary
Released on October 18, 2011, following Quarashi’s comeback, Anthology was a celebration of 15 years of Quarashi a chance to look back at an extraordinary journey while giving longtime fans something new to sink their teeth into. And what a collection it was. Spanning the band's career from the raw beginnings of Switchstance, through the Icelandic records and the international breakthrough of JINX, Anthology brought together the songs that defined Quarashi alongside remixes, rarities, lesser-known fan favourites and previously uncommon material. The release was a seriously ambitious three-disc set, featuring two CDs and a DVD, with a whopping 40 tracks and a total running time of around 2 hours and 29 minutes. For fans, it was practically a treasure chest the kind of release you could disappear into for an afternoon and come out the other side having rediscovered half your Quarashi collection. More than just a “best of,” Anthology felt like the band taking stock of everything they had created: the garage beginnings, the Icelandic explosion, the JINX years, the international adventure, the changes, the comeback three decades of music compressed into one celebration of the Quarashi legacy. And while it gave fans plenty of nostalgia, it wasn't simply looking backwards. The collection mixed the familiar with the unexpected, allowing old favourites to sit alongside remixes and deeper cuts that deserved another moment in the spotlight. For those who had been there from the beginning, it was a reminder of just how far the band had travelled. For newer fans, it was the perfect rabbit hole. Fifteen years. Forty tracks. One wildly unforgettable Quarashi story. Anthology was the band's way of saying: here's where we've been now turn it up and remember why you fell in love with Quarashi in the first place.
