Just one year after forming, Quarashi released their self-titled debut album on Lax Records and Pop Músík. The record captured the raw energy of their live shows and expanded on the promise of Switchstance with sharper production and bolder songwriting.
The album established the band as a force in Icelandic music. Singing in both Icelandic and English, the group connected with listeners who had never heard rap delivered in their native language — and international listeners who didn't need to understand the words to feel the energy.
'Quarashi' proved the band was no one-EP wonder. It laid the groundwork for everything that followed, and tracks from this era still fill the band's setlists thirty years later.
